ROV - Remote Operated Vehicle

Underwater inspections using purpose designed

engineering ROV equipment, delivering excellent

clarity on your dams, wharves & maritime structures

Why use an ROV?

The ROV

ABOUT ROV'S

Our ROV teams use specialised robotic equipment to perform underwater inspections for water catchments, dam infrastructure and marine environments.

APPLICATIONS

Corrosion and Wear Inspections: Piers, piles & underwater structures can be condition monitored using Ultrasonic Thickness gauging equipment.

Pipeline Inspection: Follow underwater pipelines to check for leaks, determine overall health of the pipeline and insure the installation is acceptable.

Condition Monitoring: We use Ultrasonic Thickness gauging equipment, industry leading camera and lighting equipment and underwater cleaning tools to help you establish equipment condition.

Object Location and Recovery: Locate and recover submerged items in fresh, salt or diver hazardous water.

Quality Assurance: Construction and QA support to verify and provide evidence of compliance or construction objectives.

Reporting: We offer a complete condition reporting system and include comprehensive video footage presented in a user friendly format incorporating thickness and other data when required. This provides the basis of ongoing record keeping and asset management control for our clients to ensure strategic and life expectancy goals can be achieved.

Cost : ROV teams can be mobilised to site more cost effectively than conventional dive teams, due to reduced equipment weight, complexity and crew numbers. Response time is minimised since equipment and personnel can be airlifted to location without delay.

Access/Size : The size of the inspection vehicle makes access into confined areas practical. Not only is access possible within confined spaces but environmentsl conditions which would make diver access impossible do not affext the inspection outcomes when ROV is used.

Drive Time: No restrictions exist on dive time with the inspection and the client / client's representatives can participate in the inspection. We can provide access up to 160 mtrs below surface without restrictions on bottom time. We provide a completely interactive inspection service which means project managers, engineers, inspectors and repairers can participate in the inspection with full understanding of the condition of the inspection targets.

Health & Safety: We offer a much safer alternative to placing drivers in the water, and can operate in up to 3 knot currents which means less inspection down time. The occupational health and safety concerns associated with air and saturation diving are eliminated which means that corporate risk exposure is minimised and inspection carried out without exposure to diver health through equipment and human factors.

Maneuverability: Our inspection service makes it possible to provide insight into operational and structural/mechanical issues because the equipment is flexible, maneuverable and provides auto hover and auto heading features which allows inspections during valve movement or rudder testing.

Depth: Inspection can be facilitated up to 160 meters depth, areas where conventional diver inspections are very difficult and costly. No restrictions apply with respect to bottom time and inspection performance as a function of depth so areas which in the past have not been accessible with conventional techniques are now accessible.
